I am not sure 100% but I would like to see weather it would be possible to trade someone ? Anyone out there with a b18c1 looking to part with it to get a b20 block w/ b17a crank for the High reving 1.9L Hybrid???
I have a B17a block that needs to be bored and honed to .25mm over. and Also Ctr overbore pistons. (will make aprox 11.5:1 compression in B17a + give a tad more displacement over the 1678cc stock)
I would like a b18c1 W/ standard sized New ctr pistons
Or I could trade my b17a w/ out pistons for a b18c1 w/ out pistons! And I could return or exchange my ctr overbores for regulars..
I hear a lot of people want the crank that I have in this block.
I am not a 100% sure on letting it go. but am considering it for the right deal.

You B17a is not even close to equal with a B18C....dont get your hopes up. Sorry

 

you forget some like to get Sick! and build motors (1.9L vtec) that have the High reving power potential of a b16a w/ the grunt and torque of a b20 midrange!... My crank and rods are a Key ingredient boooyyyyeeeee!

I am not bashing you. If I wanted to I cuold be a dick. I would consider trading you a B18C1 block but it would not be equal to your B17 shortblock. I waas just saying...cool your jets there turbo

 

To some a b18c w/ crank and rods may be a fair trade for a b17a w/ crank and rods if they wanted to switch from their 1.8L w/ Less than ideal rod ratio and go with b20vtec block w/ 1.7L gsr crank for a increase in displacement over the b18c1and an even better rod ratio for High rpm power!

ill trade a bare c1 block with a brand new bore to your choice. has the big iron ductile sleeves in it. for your b17 and b20 block.

in exchange for b18c1 bottom end w/ the same parts...

 

Problem si people are relize that the B20 has shitty sleeves that arent made for high pressures. Smart people will get a b18c and sleeve it to 84 like you probaly want to do.
