So new project, 1991 honda accord ex-r
so i bought a 1991 honda accord ex-r auto, i want to put a jdm h22a motor in it with an auto trans. i was wondering if anyone has tips for this new build and what it will take to swap the motor and the estimated cost of swapping, im gettin the motor for 1300 and i got the car for 800 and i dont wanna spend over 5000
ex-r??? doesnt exist, however, your swap plan is a good idea, but if you're going to swap the h22a, swap in a manual to replace the auto. i mean autos suck plain and simple. The cost of this swap well you mentioned 1300 for the motor so im assuming you dont have the ecu and harness. you're going to need these two for the swap. good luck!
poorman212 is right, there a canadian edtion. the motor comes with everything http://www.japanmotorimport.com/JDM_...M%20H22A_92-95
I think it is also for the EU cars but not 100% sure. I see most of them from/in Canada.
It was just a point of clairity, sorry I'm not much help with swaps. There are posts you can search on, also look in the FAQ for more information. Good luck.

Just because it's not sold as an EX-R in the US doesn't mean that it's not in existence somewhere else. This is a big planet we live on, it doesn't just consist of the USA.
Welcome to the Accord family mxracer29. I'm just down the road from Moncton. There are a few swap threads in the FAQ that might be able to help you out. Check them out and if you have any questions after that you can be more specific in what it is you need to know.
Looks as though you have a pretty good platform to start from. Good luck
