JL W6 vs W3

Default JL W6 vs W3

ive got a 1200 watt jbl amp and ive blown a couple single 10s... cause im a dumbass... well ive got one friend selling 2 w6 10's in box with power distributer for 250 and its been fairly used 1-2 years... ive got another friend selling 2 w3 10 in a cheap sealed box that is about 30 days old... what should i get? i heard somehting about w6s only good in 1s or 3s?? and w3s are for 2 subs??

the 1200.1 is too much power for either of those (except possibly the w6v2)

get the w3's if they're d4's and wire it to a 4 ohm load to get 600 watts
the reason some would say w6's are better with 3 subs is because they only come in a funky impedance (i forget if its dual 3 or dual 6 but its something like that) so you need 3 subs to wire it to a (conventional) 1 2 or 4 ohm load. with class d amps it isnt really that big of a deal though
