Default 94 Integra de-rice build

Hi everyone, first time making a build thread. Read alot of them, kind of excited. Alright the car, my brother bought this 94 Integra GS. He needed a car to drive back and forth to school in. I'm doing all the work to it since I'm an awesome brother like that and plus I just love doing this stuff.
Came with the b18b1

Heres how it sat when he had it.

Lambo style exhaust

Now when my brother took it out on the road for the first time, his front driver wheel fell off, due to the guy not torquing it right. The studs were sheared right off but luckily damage was limited to a cracked bumper, a mangled fender and the sideskirt where it was molded to the fender snapped off(held on by nearly an inch of bondo....)We had the hub sent off to get new studs pressed in, got a really good deal too, helps when you know people. Using my limited skills, I managed to bring bring the fender pretty close, its not perfect which is kind of bothering me but the bro doesn't really care too much about that he says its fine..

Originally, all I was going to do was the bumper. There were tons of chips in it and the guy who had it before just painted right over everything. The deeper we got into this car the more **** we found. Pulled off the foglights and took out the ridiculous mesh grill, backside of it was all rust. After fixing the fender, my bro asked me to pull the lip and sideskirts off since they hung down two inches from the frame. He just wants a car that is good to drive in the winter. So I took them off, and it showed me a hidden surprise...

Didn't do anything to it, just bondo'd right over the damn thing... Lazy *****. Luckily my old man has a buddy thats going to let us borrow his 110v migwelder and I can cut out all the **** and put new metal in. The guy who had the car before my bro also cut out the rubber strips on the rear quarter panels so he could fit in those massive wheels. Gunna have to do something about that. Any good ideas? My old man says to fiberglass it up after giving it a good once over to make sure theres no rust, but I'm iffy with that as it may crack and lead to more rust. This car hasn't been driving in the rain since they got cut but its been sitting outside until my brother bought it. Would it be a good idea to weld the panels back together and coat it in with a sealer then cover the entire wheelwell with spray on rubber?

To see how everything would clear with stock wheels on, I swapped out wheels from my car to his. The ride of the teggy is much improved with stock wheels/tires on. No more bone jarring, every crack in the road feeling bumps.

With stock steelies on, and cut springs I can barely get my jack underneath the frame lift point now.
But yes, looks much better without the sideskirts and normal sized tires.
Monster truck! Poor baby has been shoved out into the rain ever since we started working on the teg. Don't worry hun, you'll get some attention soon.

So basically at that point we decided that we're going to take it all back to stock. How it looks now.

Those seats are pretty comfortable but whenever we can, they're gunna get replaced by stock seats. (I have the ones from this car in mine! And he ain't getting them.) Gauge pod is gunna go as well as that steering wheel. Stupid thing blocks off the top half of the speedo and tach. Not to mention the wiring mess in this car. Managed to take care of most of it with a soldering iron and shrink wrap. I took out nearly 20 feet of wires that were jumbled everywhere, piggybacked here and just cleaned up everything. Had the whole dash apart so we could run wires through the firewall. Not done cleaning up the engine bay but its a start. Got rid of a bunch of useless wires and most of the yellow cover crap

Thats pretty much it so far, just waiting on some supplies before I dive back into this car.

Oh yeah, anybody wanna buy a lip and sideskirts?

Thanks for watching, more to come soon.

Chesho

Thanks, yeah those 17s are going out. I just wanted to see what they looked like on my car. They are way too wide, when you turn it rubs the frame not to mention they ride stiff as hell.

Aftermarket ones are staying off. Luckily the dude left the stock skirts on and put the aftermarket ones right over top. He did cut into them so I gotta fiberglass it to make em whole again.

Thanks guys, progress has been a little slow. It seems that whenever I dig into the bumper to fix it, my brother needs to go out somewhere. So its all gotta be put back together, I've taken the bumper apart maybe 5 times now and I always get interupted about 15 minutes in. But its his car, what can ya do. Anyways, the bumper needs a alot of TLC and money is tight so no new parts, I am salvaging as much as I can. Its been hacked up and smashed up. Bondo'd back together and what do you expect, it all came off with very minimal effort. (Thank God for small miracles)
Taken just before I was about to prep it for fiberglass but then I had to put it back together so the bro could get to work.

Yeah, this is gunna be fun when I finally get the chance to do put some solid hours into this.

I finally got to the bottom of the headlight problem, I somehow missed this wire but when I got underneith I spotted it and it was shorted out in two spots.

In an attempt to do away with this loose wire I tried hooking the light back up to the actual harness but it doesn't work. I really need to get myself a nice voltmeter. So, it had to be hooked into the passenger side and grounded to the frame with 16ga, I'm not entirely satisfied with the way its done. But it will hold up for now, until we have the time to actually dig into the car and figure out where the short is.

Took the seats out to clean some things up and take out the sub and amp wires since there no longer needed.

Luckily the guy kept his stock steering wheel and gave it to us, although it was a little abused from when he took it out to put that racing piece of crap in. Gauge pods are gone too! Good riddance.

Showing my bro what some 800grit sandpaper and a little bit of elbow grease can do. Did a five minute polish on the tower bar and he liked what he saw. Also all yellow **** has been removed! Except that little piece in the corner there, disregard that.

The seats that were originally in this car went back in! My poor little civvy has been pillaged of her seats

Timmies is practically my fricking crack, two coffees a day or I'm an irate bugger.

So much for keeping those seats, I'm letting him use them for now so it will pass safety as the racing seats don't recline right the guy said. They do, but its touchy to get it into a certain spot. The car failed inspection for that and a couple other things. Needs a new CV boot, gotta secure down the rear bumper even though its screwed and bolted down into place. Needs new(er) LCAs in the front and to top it all off the brake lines and bleeder valves are so rusted up you can't do anything to them. Went to bleed the lines the other day to change out the fluid and what do you know. Not a single one of them would crack open, I didn't wanna force em and break them off so I left it for now. But atleast theres no leaks in the lines.
And I'm still waiting on that mig welder, waiting sucks. I got a couple things I would like to do to my car with it as well. Anyways, thanks for watching. Tune in next time

Oh yeah, the only Ford I'll ever own.

Alright just a little progress update, starting over I took off the first fiberglass patch I put on then lined up and clamped the two pieces together for the next step. Its holding good Filled in the license plate and emblem holes with resin as well, we're going to relocate the plate a little bit lower and make a custom holder for it.

I cut up a plastic knife and superglued it into place, its got a raised edge that matches the lines for the bumper perfectly. Its gunna make my life a little bit easier when I lay down the fiberglass patch. I thought it was a pretty good idea. But I ran out of hardener, so I'm gunna have to run down to the store at some point today and get more.

Bottom part of the bumper is done, my brother wanted it satin black, the sideskirts and door trims are going to be painted the same color as well. Top half of the bumper is still going to be white. I think it'll look good when its all said and done. Hes got this crazy idea too, he wants to take a router and cut out the integra letters then put a light behind it with a piece of blue colored glass and box it in so when you turn on the running lights you'll see Integra in a blue light. So crazy it just might work!

Got the fender repainted, I just used gloss white spray paint. It matched up pretty well, I can't even tell the difference. Still a small issue with it lining up but I'm gunna go back out there and finangle it some more after lunch.

Work on two cars has completely taken over the garage, ahh I love it! Space is a bit of a premium here. My babys under wraps.

Thats it for now, still waiting on that welder though. Can't wait to get my grubby paws on that and have some fun with it.
