Default sick of broken fog lights!

Ok been through two pairs of fog lights in the past year.

OVER IT!!

Is there a way to replace the black insert part of the fog lights? I searched tons of places and cant even find a correct name for the part.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

lamin-x makes 20 mil clear protective films cut for your fogs. use that if you decide to get another set.

they also have a 40 mil material but i don't know what the story is with that...might want to call, but 20 mil should protect you pretty well.

The black piece you're talking about is part of the bumper cover, but you could make your own piece out of metal and epoxy it in there.

Yeah, I talked to honda...they dont sell that part. Gotta buy the whole bumper haha.
I guess the place I bought my grill from has a grill for the fog area...but that also comes in a package deal. Im going to see if they could be nice enough to just sell me the fog pieces. Thanks for all the advice!

If I knew someone would have wanted them I just cut them out of my bumper, but I cut them out using a dremmel and a 1/8" bit.

So they would have been smaller than the hole because you remove some material when you cut them that way.

It seems strange no one makes a grille to fit over the lights, like they do on Subaru's .

Does the Lamin-X film bubble after the fogs are on for too long?....also will it bubble if you put HID's in the fog lights from the heat?...I just ordered another set of fogs since mine cracked and would like to buy the Lamin-X but not if it will bubble up and look nasty

I thought HIDs give off LESS heat than Halogen bulbs.

HID won't be a problem with lamin-x, period. halogen bulbs give off most of their energy in heat. i've never had lamin-x fail in any way. i've run it on high wattage glass auxiliary lights as well as the fogs on my ms3, where i run HIR bulb every time my car is started as i drive with all forward lighting on at all times. i can't attest to using it on super high wattage halogen bulbs at idle for a LONG time, maybe lamin-x can give more info, but for regular uses it seems pretty robust.
