I love you guys so much that I will share my secret of avoiding moving violation points on your lice
In Accordance to the "Accord got OWNED" thread, I will share my knowledge of how to avoid points being added to your driving record and seeing higher insurance rates all because I love you guys so much.
Lets say you get get a speeding ticket for $100 +4 points. What you do, is plead guilty and pay the fine, however, you pay more than what the fine was. For example, here, you would pay something like $102.53. The state computers will automatically issue a refund check for $2.53. The trick is, when you get this check, rip it up and throw it out, dont cash it. Until the transaction is complete, those points will not be added to your license and thus the points will remain in limbo for ever. The law....OWNED!!!
Disclaimer: I have not tried this myself before nor have ever even gotten a speeding ticket. However, what do you have to loose? So you pay an extra couple of bucks, whats the big deal? Not like your breaking the law or anything.
Enjoy kids.

That didn't work for me as I overpaid by $5 to a ticket 3 years ago... points still showed up on my record. It may vary state to state, but in VA, you'll always lose.
Don't do it. It's not true. Yes, for a while it works UNTIL the check expires. Once the check expires, it's on your record.
The only real way to avoid points is to either fight it yourself (with good research of the law at the library) or take a lawyer and get it taken off. Using the lawyer is always best because even if you have a valid point and fighting in court, the judge can still deny it. However if you have a lawyer, they usually can make the judge budge.

I have heard of this also. I have to get a lawyer becuase I just got my third moving violation in a year. I was going to the convienient mart from the drag strip (Speed People Sport Compact Open) and I was in a hurry to get back. I was in a friends car and did not have my trusty radar detector. I was just coming out of a 55MPH zone into a 45 zone and that ****** tagged me at 60MPH. I plead not guilty and will get a lawer to be done with it. On my way home from court , the same cop tagged me (I was going 70 this time) but after the first blip on the Bel 980 I was on the brakes before he could get a reading.I was gonna try this write a check over thing (even if to just space my tickets apart farther).

i went in and contested and tried to fight mine. if you go to court and go before the judge you always get off less, if its a decent excuse and your not an ***. But i went in front of him and tired my best. My two were lowered and i got judication which means i had to pay but they werent to be put on my record. Like a no contest .. i guess
