you cant want one thing but have demands for another. since its an axel back i want to say it wont effect your mpg considering the cam cant move much more air if it dreamed all night.

This thread isnt made to criticize man its to help i just asked a simple question
i was curious to no the answer

because it supposedly "adds 10-15 hp" and the more horsepower obviously the less MPG.

It won't decrease MPG nor add HP. 10-15hp claim is bogus.

I wouldn't spend much money into that motor. I love the y5 an the ridiculous mileage it gets (I was getting 45-50 on the freeway), but power wise, nothing I'd spend a cent on. Save up for a B or K swap.

that exhaust will not scavenge out much more than a stock "axle back" ,your MPG's will stay the same along with HP/TQ

you want a loud muffler on a very slow car, with no intentions of making it any faster.. nice.

Actually, it will more than likely indirectly decrease fuel economy. If you want the car louder, that means you are going to try to drive the car more aggressively, right? If so, gas mileage drops... More gas pedal equals less gas mileage.

The only thing that could make this even more lame would be if the car was a CVT.

Just drill holes in your stock muffler if this is the case

well, if you put it that way. just take off your whole [catback] exhaust system.

Depends on how you look at it...loud muffler...NO performance mods?

Rice.

What are your overall plans for it though...all appearance mods? What kind?

o/p, you'd need more than just an axle back to actually gain hp, which you aren't trying to get. i can see you loosing mpg if you are intentionally wrapping out gears just to hear the exhaust more. ya know, higher rpms means more fuel used

lol yea but i hope im not shifting at high rpm
i believe i wont because the HX comes with a dummy shift light to save the most gas and i usually listen to it

so im sure nothing will change towards my MPG
