Default Skunk2 Stage 2 Cams and Springs Setup

i have a stock 98ITR. 2 questions:

1) For a top end fresh up I am thinking of installing Skunk2 Stage 2 Cams and Springs Setup. How would this affect my stock idle? MY stock idle os 750rpm. Does the idle get lumpy/choppy?

2) Do I necessarily need to get 440 injectos and a larger throttle body (70mm) to get optimuim performance?

Can anyone point me to a good thread that discusses this please?

thanks

The skunk tuner 2s are great street car cams. Your idle will be different than stock and you may have to get the idle bumped up some. Biggest thing is you will have to get switched over to obd1 and get tuned.

A nice intake, header and exhaust will compliment the cam upgrade.

A 98 spec ITR motor with Skunk2 tuner 2s , 3inch intake and 2.5 exhaust to a magnaflow exhaust made 190whp, I forget torque, rev'd to 8600. SAE corrected at sea level. It had a stock header.

I didn't notice much of an idle change with my stage2's...

The key is getting an OBDI ecu and getting them tuned!!!
I wouldn't get them installed until you get a good intake, header, exhaust setup, or you're not optimizing the cams...and you'll just have to retune again later.

Very true. My reference was to my Pro1s. The ITR motor that I referenced above had ac/ps on it when it made those numbers.

I use a 3inch tube with a good quality filter. I don't buy into all the stupid name-brand stuff. (well; I lie. My R has a comptec box with a modified tube. haha)

my concern is wear of the cams and valvetrain. I hear guys say no problem I got 10k on my cams... blah blah. I'm talking like 80 to 100 K miles. I know the ITR stuff can go that far and I got maybe 35 k on stage 1 cams and ITR springs. Anybody have 50 to 100 K on stage II stuff? Also the longer the duration the higher the CR and I think on should be looking at something great than say 11.0 to 11.5 for stage II to get the correct cranking compression... Dunno as I've been into turbo far a long long long time and I'm back to fooling around with my ITR since my turbo GSR got ripped off.

Also on the dyno above, what kind of headers? Was this an open exhaust? About what CR?
Thanks

if i can go back to the time when my car was stock.. i would leave it all alone or do a oem build.

i started modding the engine all i seen after that is problems.

i'd compromise few extra whp for reliability and headache free
