Default 98 accord 3.0L vtec power issues intermttnt

98 accord
141K
all stock

was throwing EGR code, replaced EGR valve, cleared idle issue and starting issue.

starter went out, was able to start car by banging on starter.... replaced it and solved issue.

had issue with transmission sensor that was disconnected by HONDA DEALERSHIP during routine checkup and had aggressive shifts between P,R,N,D4,D3 with the D4 light flashing...
reconnected sensor, all issues gone.

now car has intermittent power issue. turn key to 2nd position and all power and guages go blank, and the radio gets reset and asks for code.

checked all cables, will double check today...

question: could this be the main relay going out>? like i said its intermittent, and ALL power is suddenly gone like a disc battery cable, very odd.

Could be the ignition switch

http://techauto.awardspace.com/ignitionswitch.html

There was also a recall for this for 97-99 Accords, you'll have to call the dealership to see if its been done before or sign up on the Honda owners link (https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login....Fprod_home.asp) and see for yourself

If you have to replace it yourself

It's not related to the main relay at all.

If anything, it's either a faulty battery, battery terminal connection, or a faulty ingition switch.

You can check to see if the ignition switch recall service was performed on your vehicle by calling the dealership with your VIN and asking them to check the status on the Honda network. If it was not done, they will replace it for free. Even if it was done, I've seen a number of replacement switches fail also - so don't rule it out.
