sometimes directions &/or pictures can get confusing on DIY. Especially pictures that are blurry and have no reference to what is what in it. So I made a video of my DIY on how to fix a P0401 CEL code. How to clean the EGR valve and ports. Hope this video helps

Nice video. Just wanted to mention there is a lot more cleaning you can do. All those ports are connected and can be cleaned out with air + brush + carb cleaner. It is a real mess. Maybe you did that but didn't get video. For anyone thinking about trying this, search the lude forums first. There are several good writeups out there including info on making your own slide hammer.

 

i totally agree! Definitely read up as much as you can before u do anything major to your car. Get a good write up, read different threads and forums. The video is just another aid, but not the only thing you should use for reference.

 

Very nice. Next time dont be so stingy with the carb cleaner. Spray the hell out of the areas you are cleaning. (1 whole can should be good.) You also may want to let it soak a bit. The carbon can become hard as a rock. A wire hanger also does a nice job of scrapping out carbon that that brush may miss.
