CRX died and won't start. Everything seems like it checks out.

From: Illinois where the S is silent stupid.
90DX with a JDM D15b Vtec, auto to manual conversion, dpfi to mpfi conversion with rywire harness, P08 Ecu.
Car has ran perfectly without any problems for about 30,000 miles since I put the motor and everything in. Ive been on long trips and back more than several times and the car worked flawlessly. The 02 sensor went out almost 2 years ago and I couldn't get it off the downpipe so I left it and ran the car without the 02 sensor for almost 2 years without any problems.
I was driving to work one morning as normal as possible and all of a sudden the car bucks like it just ran out of gas out of nowhere and it died then I coasted to a parking spot. Then tried to start the car and it just cranks and cranks without starting.
Hooked up a timing light and the car gets no spark.
The main relay is clicking on and working.
The fuel pump comes on and I can smell gas when trying to start the car.
I switched out the entire distributor with one from a 93 SI a td42u and only got half spark.
Also switched out the ECU and get only half spark on the timing light.
How would I only get half spark from switching out the entire distributor AND ECU??? and no spark with mine.

I converted my ef sedan from auto to manual there's a thing called park and neutral lock out where the car won't start unless it's in park or neutral the 2 wires you spliced together under the center console would be the first thing i'd check considering it wouldn't show a cel or anything but i think that would not let the car crank at all

I was helping the op.
When the timing light is hooked to the #1 wire it doesn't flash showing no spark, but when we swapped in a good distributor it looked like the #1 cylinder would spark maybe once every several rotations instead of rapidly flashing. I'm stumped.

Thats a good idea but it seems like that wouldn't make the car crank at all and unless the wires and soldered connection just all of a sudden became bad then its not that. I still have the P lit up in red on the cluster too. I will check that tho since my e-brake light seems to be on now and Im willing to try anything.
check the ignition switch, this happened to me a couple weeks ago. car turned off suddenly while driving. So on the side of the road i wiggled the key and found it had to be in a certain spot to get it to turn over. I had to hold it a little past the II and a little before III on the lock cylinder. May or may not but it hasnt been mentioned. I got a new ignition switch from the junk yard for 2$ good luck!
