Default Replaced timing belt: dead

I have a 1996 hatchback here that had the timing belt skip a tooth which made it not run.

I replaced the belt and it ran great for about 10 minutes of vigorous driving and then suddenly died. It doesn't appear to have spark, that is to say a timing light won't blink while hooked up to it.

I verified that the timing is still lined up and even replaced the crankshaft position sensor for good measure.... Still dead.

What could I have screwed up? I'm at a loss.

pictures? you most likely bent valves, or you did not time the motor properly ( #1 piston at TDC and your cams "up" mark up along with the two lines)

Cam is up, the two hash marks on either side of the cam are lined up with the head, and the hash mark on the crank pulley is lined up with the sight arrows on the side of the timing belt cover. I don't have pics ATM but I have double checked...

Can bent valves cause no spark?

no. are you positive you have no spark? pull out the wires/plugs and crank it. if you see it arc then you obviously have spark

Any CEL codes?

Does the fuel pump prime? If so, test the coil and have an auto parts store test the ICM. Old plugs, wires, cap, or rotor can cause the coil to blow.

I'll check for the spark plug arc when I get home, there are no cel codes and the fuel pump def primes and the main relay makes all the proper clicks

check your ignition coil like Ron stated and re-check your timing. was this your first time doing a timing belt?

I will check the ignition coil as well pending the verification of lack of spark. This was my 7th or 8th Honda timing belt replacement.

is the distributor back in the correct way and tightened down? you may have un-plugged something and forgot to plug it back in. i did a headgasket before and was cranking it for five minutes without it starting. it ended up being an unplugged dizzy.

Pulled the ICM and the resistance was NOT on point AND it had visible burn markings on it. Will get a new one tomorrow. Is it possible this is just an unhappy coincidence or is there a possible cause and effect between something I did wrong with the timing belt and the ignition control module?

nice. i like when people find out their problem haha. and it could totally be a coincidence. My friend blew his head gasket and we put the motor back together. It wouldn't start. Turns out his Distributor was bad too. Now it runs like a champ. 180,000 miles
