I just bought HCP mounts from Newman ( ) and it dawned on me when I saw the kit that I need to retain some stock mounts. I didn't get any with the car OR the engine, so I MAY be a bit screwed here. Can anyone tell me which STOCK mounts I need for the HCP kit in an EK? Civic or Lude? and does anyone HAVE any? Thanks!

 

I have the same question just with EG what mounts from h22 do I keep with hcp? and are all the h22a engine mounts the same or do they change 92-96 to 97-01? thanks

 

im havin the same question with my ek...i think you only need the tranny mount off the lude to bolt to the front bar on the hcp kit, but im not 100%?...

 

you need the rear Tranny bracket from the 92+ VTEC prelude and the front tranny bracket from the prelude for the Ek/H22 swap. The rest are the HCP mounts....

But with the EK I would Seriously Reccomed replacing the driver side oil filled mount with one from placeracing.

Ok, sorry, I should specify. So, I Need the rear tranny mount bracket and front from a Lude, eh? good to know.. thank you. as for the motor mounts, they need to go on the car somewhere, don't they? or is that stuff included? I got my H22 with NOTHING on it, like no mount brackets or anything.. There are no mounts for the civic either. All I have is the 4 pieces from HCP. I will get the front crossmember mount too, and replace the oil filled one, with time. I just really want to get it going ASAP, but need to know what I need... Sorry for sounding dumb, but I don't want to be missing something that i need when I'm swapping. Thanks guys!

 

i agreee or you can get the urethane insert from energy suspension insetrt like i did and have no problems. I forgot which mount kit did you buy from me and newman, if you got the race kit(with from 4th crossmember mount) don't worry about it that much

does anyone know if there is a difference in the rear tranny mount bracket between the jdm bracket and the usdm bracket...my rear bracket does not line up with the mount at all...is the jdm one different????? its pissing me off ..im think were gonna make our own tongiht....not sure...if anyone knows let me know...thanks..

 

the rear mount is not different I don't believe.

mount the rear bracket first!!

it's a pain in the *** but needs to be mounted before the tranny and the driver side.

 

when i mounted it first, when we lifted the motor up to line up the sides the intake manifold would hit the firewall....so i dont know..i think my dads gonna make me a bracket for it..hardcore yo...its been about a week now....i want to get it done so bad...cant wait to drive it..it better be fast..haha

 

You only need the rear Prelude tranny bracket. The HCP mounts bolt up to the tranny and driver's side mount. Let me know if you have any questions.

 

So, this is the passenger side mount piece that bolts to the tranny? Sorry, just trying to make sure before I buy the wrong thing! The HCP kit does the rear mount completely, 1/2 the passenger side, and 1/2 the driver side? Just want to be clear. thanks!

 

haha. sorry, I just checked HCP's site. it looks like i need the one that's rearmost in the car... I'll get that one. Anyone know where the heck I can get that??? Anyone have one out there?

 

its 60 dollars from honda....its the rear tranny bracket that attached to the motor mount..i finally got mine all hooked up last night..its almost ready to go now..will be cruisng the beast this weekend for sure..

 

so how many mounts do you get with the hcp kit? i just bought/cod a kit and the guy said i only need three or that he has three.. so am i getting jipped?
