seat belt on driver's side won't go back in, 89 si hatch (canadian?)
alright, i have an 89 civic si hatch, with pillar mounted seat belts (behind the rear panels, pain to get to) I'm guessing the car is a Canadian car, it says it was made in Canada, and apparently us civics had door mounted belts or something? anyway, just today my drivers seat belt will go out all the way, but will only go back about 1/4 of the way. i can also easily lock it up by jerking it (don't remember being able to do this). will the lifetime seatbelt warranty cover this? i plan on calling a dealer tomorrow, but the nearest one is an hour away. is it being made in canada going to be a problem? thanks guys.
USDM Civics were made in Canada...
Only 90 and 91 EFs had door mounted belts
Your seatbelt is supposed to lock up if you jerk on it... how do you think it locks up and saves you in a crash..?

i read that they are electric and only lockup if you slam on the brakes (which i thought was bs, but who knows) the main problem is that it won't go back in. it goes back like 1/4th of the way and then refuses to go any further.
called the dealer and they said to bring it by so they can get one ordered. sounds like it'll be free. hopefully they don't screw up the panel it's behind.....
