been searchin around trying to get a rough estimate of how long q can sit until it loses it properties, but have had no luck. anyone have any experience with q16 thats been sitting for a couple weeks?

what are you storing it in? a race jug? I called a while back and they told me no more then a month in a plastic jug. cause it will loose all of its oxygen.

 

Do you consider a race jug, a plastic jug ? Most race containers I've seen are plastic but most are sealed, are you talking about like the red type gasoline type ( being a plastic jug ) ?

 

yea so i shoulda said all jugs are plastic lol. I told him it was in a vp jug.

 

3 months from my knowledge. any open container.

Well i know i used some that set longer than that..lol

 

if it sealed 6-8 months

 

im sure you can get a full year out of one barrel. after that, better use it in the lawn mower and ATV's.

 

Thats what I do. It works great with my lawn mower and pressure washer.lol

 

Vp recently told us that if it is in an un open metal jug , VP import will last 5 years.

Open Plastic jugs , i would say 6-8mos

 

I do the same thing, my Honda pressure washer loves it. I love the smell of it..

 

Does the same go for C16? I usually buy mine in a five gallon metal container.

 

hahaha yea adam just use it up in either the accord or the destroyer

 

we toss out c16 after a year, q16 after 9 months. we go through the stuff like crazy on the engine dyno so not much gets tossed out. we never store fuel in the plastic jugs longer than a week, even if its in a cool area.
