ok so i put a f23a1 out of a 98 accord into my 90 accord and it is running off of the stock ecu right now. if i wanted a vtec ecu wat ecu's could i use? i found a poa-a01 ecu out of a 94 vtec accord and i know that will work but my friend also told me i could use a h22 ecu. is this true? or would timing and runability be completely different?

 

I will not run an H22 ECU because the Air/Fuel mapping is different. It can ruin and damage your motor if run long enough to that point. It's not meant for a Single Cam motor while the H22 ECU is built for the DOHC VTEC motor.

 

ok so is the poa ecu my best bet then? or if i wanted to step it up i guess i could do a chipped p28 lol

 

Yes, if you want to be able to dyno and tune your car, go with a P28 chipped ECU with the F23 basemap.
