pro's and con's, dc2 v eg v crx
looking at choosing a car to go race with, id like to hear people's thoughts on a integra v eg v crx.
what are the good and bad points of each one of these cars.
thanks

does anyone know about how much you are going to gain in your 60s' and you 330' with the 10 inch difference between the EF and the EG?
I'm in same issue as above I have a really nice EF that I was thinking about building but the I think I want the egs wheel base.
Pros about EG;
more aftermarket support for light body parts ( hoods hatch front ends etc)
more room in engine bay.

i was thinking the same thing about the eg but im leaning to the integra for these reasons
stability
aerodynamics
easy to find parts
bad side is they do weigh abit more
any one els want to chime in ?

they do weigh more, but you can drop weight out of them, i had my 94 gsr down to 2265 with me in it and i weigh 180, that also was without anything under the dash though. remove power steering, remove all a/c components and remove all ABS components and you can lighten it up A LOT
I just got my old DC2R to put my turbo motor in. I ran faster with better 60fts in that car over my EG and the EG made more power. I was also on a smaller sidewall for slicks on the ITR but still did better 60fts. The car is heavy(full interior, cage, and had AC and PS before now) but the DC2 just felt like a more stable car and it stopped better too.
also if your looking into a ef chassis car the crx is the shortest wheelbase. the sedans and hatchs are the same wheel base. if your going NA crx is a good choice due to how extremely light you can get them (as long as its not a 91 si lol) the hf's came with aluminum rear drum brakes.
I currently have a 89 sedan, I used to have a 92 hatch as well as a 94 and 95 ex coupe. honestly my favorite chassis for a street car was the ex coupe. factory front sway bar and a itr rear sway bar, the car handled amazingly.
the eg's are def more of a rigid chassis (my coupes felt way stiffer then my hatch did)
but my ef sedan scales in the same as my gutted to hell hatch did. I think its more of a preference and what you already have more then anything. Iv thought of going to a crx shell but I like keeping my car a nice comfortable sleeper and quiet.
also its nice to not be one of the 100 eg hatchs at every event lol.

street class to start with.
i did some searching that made me start this thread on using a crx. what made me think twice was the short wheel base so at high speed the cars become unstable. ive had loads of eg's so thats why i thought about the integra. oh btw engine is going to be a n/a h2b

CRX for me.. why?
1. Easy to tow on smaller trailers.
2. Easy to store in garage or storage places.
3. Front end bumper imo is the sturdiest of the three
4. Its different
5. Its the equivalent of the Starlets beating up bigger toyotas.
6. Not as much material for cage, exhaust piping, fuel lines, etc etc
you get my point.

, it said both are the same...I also find it hard to believe that the Eg would be 2" longer tho..
Integra = 101.2"

Eg = 101.3"

Ok i was wrong, Eg is 1/10th longer
