Dump that sol

 

It is in the works, I just finished the paint and body work yesterday.

 

Oh nice resprayed samba green?

 

yea, it was the del sol that was for sale on here not too long ago, the paint was pretty bad and there where a lot of dings all over the car.

Nice it came out good. A whole color change would have been expensive and you dont see many samba green sols

 

main reasons I kept it samba green, I did not want to open my door or pop the hood and see green after changing the color and 2 they are kind rare. I did all the paint/ body work myself in my garage.

 

You sprayed it in your garage?

 

yep, I used to work at my uncles paint and body shop when i was 16-18 and just started to paint cars in my free time, this is the 6th car I have painted in my garage. where I live is chill and no one cares if you work on your car and the guy across the street is a sheriff and always has me work on his cars for him so I kinda get a free pass.. lol.

 

Well I dont mean about the compressor noise I mean the dust that comes up and sitcks to the paint.
Most guys I know who paint the car in the garage spray water all over the walls and floors to keep the dust from getting on the car.

 

I also use water too and cover my work bench and anything I cant move to the back yard, but..

I also have one of these with a spray booth filter..

 

How much do you charge for a stage 1 spray? clear and base mixed in?

 

I hate single stage paint, I do base coat/clear coat paint jobs for $600 depending on color and If you do not need body work and I also do the wet sand and buff to remove the orange peal if you bring the car back after 2weeks.

How much for just wetsand and buff, I never did that to my sol since it got painted...

 

Single stage? If so you "can't" wet sand and buff, from what I have been told.. never tried it cause I did not want to risk damaging someones paint.

 

hmmm never heard of that ill have to ask one of my dads friends who paints...

 

Single stage paint is very very very tricky when it comes to taking care of it, some car wash and wax will actually damage the paint more then helping it, and because of the way the clear in mixed into the paint, wet sanding it will damage it (From what I have been told) but then again I could be wrong.. The shop I worked at never did single stage paint jobs, and I have only did one and hated the way it came out.
