Default Is there a difference between 1157 and 1157A bulbs?

Looking to buy some silver/amber turn signal bulbs for my sister's car... and I'm seeing 1157 and 1157A options. Is there a difference between those two bulbs?

Does the A stand for Amber... or are the contacts different?

Thanks!

A = Amber
NA = Natural Amber (some companies use that instead of A)

Sometimes you'll see LL (Long Life) or XV (Xtra Vision), but it has more to do with brand than anything.
