Default 91 EDM civic/CRX SiR Cluster

I have a few questions about the cluster mentioned for these cars.

Nice thing i like is the 9k redline, and 8100 limiter, has the RED needle and a 155mph speedo. For a b16a these are great. I have a XSi Engine in my 91 hatch and i am looking to get this cluster. Was wondering what i need to do to wire it into my system. There will be some changes.

The SiR cluster is different in many ways, from the picture of the "VT" cluster from Europe that you posted.

The VT cluster, to operate properly, should have the gauges swapped into a USDM cluster housing to by plug and play, should only take about 10 mins to do. I have one myself. This cluster does not have a dimmer

i believe you may have to re do the speedo gear to get the speedo right otherwise it will read whatever the oem cluster read (like for instance it looks like the 60 mph is in the oem 55 -yellow number spot) maybe not im not sure

sounds like a good point but im not looking forward to a big overhaul. Im wating to hear back from my friend. On the actual cluster, After i finally got a deal worked out with him and i am ready to pay up, now i m faced with making it work.

I have to remove both faces and insert into mine?

Why wouldnt i use everything i get...?

none of this is true

i have already explained the simple mod which takes all of 20 mins, then it's plug and play, there is "no" wiring needed, and it will be 100% accurate

Yea i have detailed pics, The cluster looks like it all plugs in. I took my dash apart to inspect the back side of the current DX cluster. or rather STD.

I have cable speedo. That does too. There are 3 connectors and mine has same. So im thinking it is simple.

My question is How does the tach work? this is why i want. and need- is there any hooking up of that?

you need an Si cluster housing as already mentioned, it has the proper print sheet on the back, that is what allows everything thing to work. The wiring for the tach is already there, no extra work needed.....you are making a simple thing more complicated than it is

Why is this like a broken record? You need a usdm Si cluster for the housing, lol Why is this so hard to understand, they can be had for $20

If you pay $300 for the cluster, your crazy, i bought one from Europe for $100

If you plug it directly in, no mods, 3 things will be miss wired, and you will have a constant dummy light lit up also, can't recall the other two issues

bump for an old thread... i need to know wiring colour functions for crx edm 89-91 with d16a9 engine. im currently swapping a k20 in an will be using a civic eg cluster.

i know the colours for civic cluster but colours dont match with crx and cannot find wiring diagram for edm crx. colours dont match usdm or jdm functions either.

thanks
