Run away from whoever told you that. Unless he's talking about cam gears. And to do your valve lash you need a flat head, a 10mm deep socket hammered into the end of a combination wrench, and feeler gauges.
fosho thanks guys for the help... but could anyone like help me do thhis...like in person so i know and dont have to ask again...and i will get the specs for my b18c1.....how do i twek with my cam gears????

what days are you available? I would like to get my hands on a b-series again. I can do it for you. It really isn't that tough and can be done fairly well in about 30 minutes. By the way, setting the valve lash on the looser or tighter end can affect your motors performance.
im open all day everyday for now till i get a new job....like will it make my car anyslower or anything like that i jus though ir would run better with a valve ajust. and no more noise..... hit me up 714 421 7548 luis is the name hit me up thanks man...
a valve adjustment will help with the noise and make your engine run smoother. b-series engines are notorious for being loud in the first place, but a valve adjustment should help. I had some idling issues in the past and it ended up being the valve lash being too tight.
i don't have the tools but if you buy a set of feeler gauges at auto zone, have a flat head screwdriver and a 10mm ratchet i can do it. that's all i will need. I'll let you know.
