Default GSR/No Oil... new oil pump

97 gsr motor
Comming home from work the oil light came on.. and i haven't gotten into vtec since i can remember.
So wen i got home i turned the car off and took it the next day to the shop(via flatbed btw)
Shop then returned it with the oil light still on but installed a new pump that i had bought directly from Acura.
About 2 weeks later I heard a weard noise.. turned out it was my cams from oil starvation. Took off oil pump and then went to Acura.. got a replacement and installed it.. now i go to turn it on same thing goin on..no oil to my head and the oil light still on any ideas?

Sent block to get cleaned in solution(they said), crank cut.. block honed, new bearings, gaskets and rings.
Head got resurfaced and cleaned

Is the pan dented? Oil pickup dented? Oil pickup gasket in place? I assume you have a clogged path somewhere and its reducing pressure. Oil filter tight? Oil filter replaced?

yep all is brand spanken new.. mobile 1 filter and sythetic oil... new pump from acura.. wen i was installing it people on honda tech said it doesnt matter how it goes on.. pickup is fine and gasket is in place and properly torqued... and oil orifice was cleanned... and then i thought maybe somethin was clogged and i just removed the head from the first post till now.. and the orifice hole/pathway is clean as a whistle.. took off the oil filter and no oil really(just the oil i put in when i install the filter)

the shop may have messed up on the bearing clearances and/or is missing the oil control orifice between the head/block.

why did they cut the crank? that could be the whole problem right there..

machine shop cut the crank b/c wen i got the oil pump back from the shop and they said that it was ok to run it w/ the light on... and i came home one day hearing a noise .. it was my cams.. turned out they where all scared and crank was scared aswell.. .20 over.. bearings are same size.... and oil control orifice is there.. between cyl 2&3. but that passage way is clean.. not even having any oil in it. =/

When you say "bearings are same size", do you mean .020" oversized also, or same size as stock oem color codes? Also, when the cams were oil starved, was there any damage to the cam journals on the head and cam caps? If so, did the machine shop machine the cam journals on the head and cam caps also? If so, how much material did they remove, also did they line bore the cam journals or just use a sanding wheel?

Nice find. Yah I always relace customers pans/pickups when I see a dented pan. It happens alot.
