Default Riders gear

I will be buying my frist bike soon (cbr600f4i), and was curious as to which brands and what gear is good for a beginner. by gear i mean gloves, boots and jacket. I have heard alpinstars have good gloves but are thier jackets good too? thanks.

alpinestars stuff is stand up good. I have boots (smx) and gloves (sp1) and I crashed an old TLD jacket made by them. Good fit and finish, excellent protection but not exactly my type of style(jacket). But hey, I wore it for protection and b/c it was a hand me down. Now I have a fieldsheer jacket and no complaints. Whatever you get, try it on first and look into hard CE armor inserts PLEASE! They're frame sliders for your joints. Good stuff. Also the replaceable toe sliders on the boots save your *** and you cash. Win win by my book. They're **** to walk around in though so only for rides.

I just picked up my F4i today. Check out my other post to see all the gear I got with it. I will be upgrading to gloves soon. It is a great bike, but it is a lot for the beginner.

I was actually suprised how much it had in it. It is raining here, so I was only able to take it out for about 5 minutes between storms. I didn't even get above 30mph, but you can tell it is there. it screams at 4K I can't imagine 14K.

Good luck, and be safe. Get good gear.
