sputtering and smoking - 2007 civic si sedan
I am having a problem with my 2007 civic si sedan. It is sputtering at times (not all times) when I am in first gear. I can feel it in my clutch foot. Then When I was on the highway i wound out a gear and i noticed that there was a little bit of smoke. I wasn't able to see the color of the smoke. I checked the smell of the tailpipe and it smelled of fuel.
the car is 100% bone stock and has about 62000 miles on it. I have always gotten my oil changes at 3000 miles.
Any help here?
thanks in advance

Has it put on the check engine light? you should take to an auto parts store that will read the codes, most do for free.
If it is missing at times it should tell you on the read out of the codes.
Also check and see if the mass air flow sensor wire is pushed on all the way, that is the wire group on the air filter box right on top of the engine, as good as any place to start.
You should have a look at the air filter also just a few clips. Good Luck

I was thinking it was the rings.
Ill check the Mass air sensor in a few mins.
