Need help with climate control lighting.......
Well on my climate control panel, the only parts that would light up were all the buttons on top for adjusting the vents, ac , defrost , and circulation. The bottom never lights up were you move the lever to hot or cold, and turning the blower on. So I thought this was just the way it was supposed to be, until today when I was driving at night I saw the bottom portion light up and I was kind of in shock ( I was just paying attention to it and not the road). Then I saw the bottom protion only get dim and then turn off completely, back to the way it was before. Do any of you know what the problem might be? Is there a separate bulb for the bottom portion only? Or might it be a messed up wire? If any body has had this problem or know what is wrong let me know, because I really want to fix it, Because it looked really cool seeing my console all lite up for that minute or so. Please help me, Thanks.
hey, same thing is happening with mine too... i noticed it light up a few times, but most of the time it's only the top part that works. i was gonna look into it one of these days. i'll let you know what happens.
I have taken mine apart for this same reason. Yes there are 2 bulbs. Pain in the *** to get to though. My bulbs where both fine and I checked all the connections but couldn't find anything loose anywhere. I still can't figure it out. If I tap on the unit though it will light up, or shut off. I am trying to find a whole new climate control unit because it is driving me crazy. Hit a bump it's all on, hit another bump half of it goes off or all of it.
Are the 2 bulbs close together or are the far apart from each other? I've tried tapping the unit but that bottom part doesn't turn on. I just noticed it yeaterday because like I said, I don't remember it ever being on before, now that I do now it does turn on, I going to fix it. Does anybody know which wire is the one that is the light source for the bottom part? OR how can I find out?

I think I found the cure for the lighting problem. Since I got my stereo stolen a while back and I haven't replaced it yet, I was outside last night seeing if I could find out what the problem is. well, I had a flash light and mirror seeing if I could see anything, but nothing. I was feeling around the plugs and I felt this round circle hole which is the bulb location for the lower part of the climate control unit. When I pushed on the bulb, lights went on and when I let go the lights went off. So if you pull the bulb out and adjust the little metal wings on the bulb to apply more pressure when you put the bulb back in, I think this sould fix the problem. Some of you guys should try and see if this fixes the problem on your car. I'm going to pull the bulb tonight and make sure this is the fix and I will let you know.

It worked!!!!!! Last night I pulled the bulb out and bent the wires on the bulb very very very gently to apply more pressure when I put the bulb back in. It worked just as I thought it would and the bottom part lights up and stays on. I did this in the middle of the night, last night. But just to let you know, I removed the whole climate control unit and it was a pain getting the hot/cold adjuster cable off and then back on. Probably because it was dark and it was only me and my flashlight (did want to waste my car battery). ALSO I had a helms manual to help me when I removed the whole unit and it help me a lot when taking it out. I'm sure you can get the bulb out without removing the whole unit, but thats up to you. Lastly I took out the shifter console and the stereo console to give me more room to get to the climate control. So, some of you guy give it a shot and if you have any questions about how I did it just ask me and I will try and help. I'm really happy I fixed mine, it looks cool.
