Cutting Springs Help
Hey guys im thinking about cutting springs on my "monster truck' 95' honda prelude vtec, because its like 3 inches high. Im wondering if anyone has ever done this and can tell me if it was fine or not.
I know alot of you are going to say "DONT CUT YOUR SPRINGS".
I know its bad, but I dont have money at all and cant spare 100 bucks to even buy ebay coilovers.
So Im wondering how exacly to do it and if its THAT bad of a ride?
Thanks.
PS: I want it so the fenders are like 1/4" over the tire.

even so, I have very little money and as soon as I get 50 bucks I need to buy my friends muffler and also need to save up money for changing my timing belt and valve seals. Im 16 man I work and get minimum wage and have to pay for insurence and everything. that is why I cannot waste a penny lol. =].
Cutting springs would be bad in total, do it if you wanna waste more money on the other stuff your going to have to fix. Just drive that monster truck like your proud of it and save up little by little.

Cutting spring will cause your car to bounce. I never seen this on a prelude but see a lot of civics with cut springs. Looks nice, but in the long run, it kills your suspension quicker.
Well I will get coilovers a couple months after. And I dont mind the bounce its not too big of deal. I just heard it ruins your struts, is that true?
My brother had cut springs on his civic 12 yrs ago. Rode
like **** and when you bust a tie rod or the control arm bushing. You will cry with the repair cost. Dont do it..... Please....

ok we realize your young and have ur mind set on cutting your springs unfortunately we don't do that so there is not much we can tell you. Your best bet is wait and save the money. probably if you used your brain for more than a hat rack, you would come up with an idea! why don't you cut one ring at a time until you get the drop you want! duh! i bet the next question is wether you should remove the springs from the car before cutting?? lol try to put as much pressure on the spring while cutting so it flys up and smacks some sense into you. sorry you asked right?
No. lol. Im not gonna cut one coil at a time, install everything, then take it apart 4 times. Ill just do approx, thanks for the help fellas, I know my brain is like a 16 year old. lol. But at least im not into ricer tail lights and aluminum spoilers and body kits
^^ agreed. Save your money and buy a good set up. So what if your riding high, I laugh at the guys whose car bounces like crazy after hitting a bump in the road.
LOL, when somebody asks your suspension, you say cut springs....

My opinion, My skunk2 springs with agx shocks actually last me about 3 years now. My prelude with this setup has been my DD when I first got it. Rides smooth and sexy. It runs like any ebiach springs. This shocks and springs don't show any sign of fatigue and it went through 2 winters/snow. The reason why I went with Skunk2 is because I know that I am going to be fully maxed out on Skunk2 parts.
See thats what I dont get, Stock suspension will last 20+ year on a car, but you buy brand new $600+ suspension and you can only expect a few years out of it. Why is this?
Because you can't be ballin. Feels better, drives better, and more performance. and it looks like you have money :D

OEM is manufactured to a pretty high standard where as aftermarket suspensions aren't intended in any way to be used on a daily driver. Cutting your springs is the dumbest thing you can do and it WILL wear out your stock struts very fast.
I wouldn't expect a $600 suspension to last forever btw, that is on the cheap end of the spectrum.
