Ok so I am sick of going to the track only to have transmission problems everytime. I have replaced the master, slave, and bought a new m2a4 jdm h22 trans. The car will NOT go into gear at high rpms at all. Some guys have said to upgrade to a twin disk and get the ACT Clutch out of there. Is it the clutch or syncros that are my problem? I bought the Competition clutch twin disk and now wondering if I should go with a dogbox to eliminate my problems. I dont want to put the trans in only to pull it out again. The car made 674whp and 480torq. Will the clutch solve my problems or am I better off putting in a dogbox with it? No companies seem to be around anymore.
Thanks,
Mike

yea sounds like your having clutch issues and not trans issues.. Altho at the power level you are at i would suggest that you switch over to a dog box for better durability but if you are having shifting issues now i dont think they will get much better once you replace the trans with a dog box..

from my understanding from the all motor guys is that the h trans doesn't like be shifted at high rpms at all. Thats why they have shifted to the b trans
yeah 1000 for me lol

H seires trans not shifting at high rpm's is B. S. , just get your set up right. HINT ( Your shifter cables can't have any '' movement " and need to be solid ) You do not need to go to a dog box until you start breaking gears, and you will, then put a ppg in it and call it a day !! Tony @ T1 can hook you up, but the box is not cheap. The trans has been the best investment on our car so far.
yeaa ive been pondering this move also...i really dont want to ,the twin disc will make a difference ...i run the m2a4 with cc twin quaife and all new everything inside the case with carbon synchros and it made a huge difference

I run a PPG dog ( H series ). I got it thru bullhead gears.
I want to think Mfactory made a syncro set for H series.
As far as H series not being able to **** at Higb rpms... That's BS. I rev to around 10k, without doing the zip tie trick

We never did syncro up grades, just ran stock trans., until the broke. You need to put the comp clutch you have in, that is what we are running right now and love it. What motor mounts are you running ? How does the trans feel driving around in the pits, Pop out of gear? resistance shifting at low rpm?
I agree the H trans not getting into gear at high rpm is bs. Shifting at 9500 rpm with 500 hp no problems but when the shift cables are bad u will have problems. My solution since my cars not a street car is I ran the cables straight through the fire wall on a stock m2b4 trans with a CM twin disk never been rebuilt. Zip ties also help to stiffen up the shifter. Thats my setup and it has been working like butter.
im hoping the twin disk fixes all my problems. If i launched and shifted at 6700 into 2nd, it wouldnt lock me out. But it always grinded 3rd around 8500. I'm running a comp twin, syncrotech syncros and new syncro sleeves.
mfactory sells a syncro kit for the H but it is made by syncrotech.

Sounds like you need to get your cables right (zip ties), you have a syncro issue and/or your clutch is not disengaging. take the tranny appart and check the syncro's. never had the plating done but it sound like a good idea. also, a cuff will definitely keep your tranny together longer.
Liberty face plating was the best thing i ever did back in 2009, if you send used gears they will clean them really well and scope them for cracks or excessive heat.
The best thing i ever did to my car was switch to a full dog box this year, its nice to not HOPE that its going in gear....I've had a CC twin for about 3 years now.

excuse my ignorance.. but what are the pro's/cons to faceplating? Is faceplating streetable?
BTW, I shifted my M2B4 at 8400 without any issues. ACT 4 puck. However, I wrecked a sleeve set and 2nd gear before I figured out that my clutch wasn't disengaging enough..
I've always wondered if the civic master has enough displacement...
