Default radiator hoses

I have recently replaced my old worn out ones with obx silicon ones. Ever since they leak coolant. Now I replaced the stock fasteners with he kind you can tighten with a screw driver or 8mm socket. My question is, can there be a such this as the hoses being too tight? No matter how much I tighten them, they leak. Now could it be that they are just crap hoses? Or are they too tight? It seems like its just the top hose that's leaking now. And mainly on the side it attaches to the head.

Did you thoroughly clean the t-stat housing neck before putting the hose on? Ie with emery cloth or something mildly abrasive?

Not leaking from there. That actually was the only spot not leaking. I'm leaning more towards the hoses themselves.

Well there is only two spots it can be leaking at the rad or at the engine. You still didn't answer whether or not you cleaned the spouts on the engine. They typically become corroded and are prone to leaking after removing the hoses.

I figured the hoses themselves probably played a part. I took them back off last night, and cleaned the spouts anyway. Havent got to check because I did this all last night. So ill get back to you if the leak has stopped. Drove it for about 60 miles last night for good measure. So if its leaking, it would have leaked in the 60 miles. As for where I got them, ebay. My gf gave me a limit on what I had to work with, and I had somewhere around $55 left over, so I went ahead and gave them a try.
