4 lug to 5 lug
i have a 94 prelude S. its a 4 lug and wondering how i would go about making it a 5 lug. arent prelude SH 5 lug? or s2k? is it just possible to buy SH or s2k cv axles and rotors. would that work?
the reason i wanted to is 5 lug tires are stronger. im wanting to eventually turn my car into a track car. learning everything about it slowly lol. just curious as to what kit i could buy. maybe the dealership would know?
I did the 5 lug conversion on my car...

copy and paste those links and delete the hyphens and underscores in the prelude power links
That should definitely get you started, when you're done reading through it let just post questions here, someone will surely help you...
I will if i know the answer, but if i dont, i'm sure someone does.

Axles? Rotors? What the heck does that have to do with Lug pattern?
Yes, you'll need new rotors & calipers though.
DO NOT use the Type-SH SUSPENSION! IT WILL NOT WORK.
If you only use the Hubs from the Type-SH that's fine.
Easiest way to do it, the way I was going to before my car was stolen:
Front: push out the 4thGen Hubs and install the 5thGen Hubs;
Rear: bolt on 5thGen Hubs. You're good too go.
Most people use the front knuckle and everything, that seems unnecessary to me. I did a ton of research forever ago and there's a few quirks doing it that way, but is doable.
More wheel options and more brake options are two.
You mean 5 lug wheels? NO. They are not "stronger" just because there's 5 lugs instead of 4 lugs. Why don't you go 6 lugs then, if that made sense.

Hundreds of people track 4 lugs cars. Honda wouldn't have used them for 20 years if they weren't strong
ok I'm beating the dead horse but ya I have a SH and i have 5 lug sometimes I wish i had 4 lug just cause of the weight I would save with a 15 inch rim but there are not that many 5 lug 15's. But ya like the other guys have said there is plenty of potential with 4 lug there are a ton of wheel companies that design wheels that are just as strong at 15in and 18 in you should just look for reputable companies and find the one that fits your application at 15 or 16 in rim.
If you thinking of going 18 or higher on your wheels you need a different car because that will look stupid on your four lug, not because its four lug but because its a smaller car.
