Different models require different steps to swap a b series motor in:

The Si is the easiest which requires a mount kit, shift linkage, 4 wires to run VTEC and some other sensors.

The HF requires everything I mentioned for the Si plus you need to change out the hubs to Si or Dx hubs.

The Dx requires the most work. It rquires everything I mentioned for the Si plus you need to convert the wiring to run a multipoint fuel injection system, otherwise known as the dpfi to mpfi conversion. If you do a search on here you will find out a lot more info than I can type in this post. Good Luck

Not necessarily. It's just easiet so swap in a MPFI(all B series I know of) into a car already wired for MPFI. Both the Si and HF are already wired for MPFI. The HF is also the lightest but you loose some of the luxaries that the Si has. i.e. sun roof, 90-91 4 wheel disk brakes, better seats, better suspension, more sound deadening. I would recomend the HF for speed.

I'd do the HF if you want the most speed, Si would be nice to have more amenities but it is a bit heavier than the HF. I had a dx, dpfi to mpfi is a pita, well to me anyways I hate wiring shiat. Si seems like it would be the easiest overall.

the HF and Si are the same but the hubs on the HF are smaller.!! you can get a set of Si or integra front suspension for $100 or so.. now the DX is slighty more work on the wiring but thats about it
