Congrats homie!! I knew she was capable, he is prolly the best helper out at the track and has great knowlege on racing this couldn't have happened to a better guy!!
congrats that car is movin'. hopefully street stock will turn around next year for i'd love to run this class in a couple of years.
Big congrats Matt! It's amazing how close to stock this engine really is. Matt must have the thickest stack of timeslips of any racer I know. He is always at the track and drives the hell out of his car. Well deserved!
Matt is simply the man. I can't think of anyone that deserves to acheive their goals more then he does.
This mo fo drove 2 hours to pick me up and deliver a 4th gear so I could race at the shootout this past weekend. You just dont find many good people like him out there any more.
Congrats homie ! ! !

Thanks everyone. I have been trying to run this for a while now and finally it all clicked. I was trying to do it on a stock block and head with just cams, intake manifold, header, and tune. I got close with a 12.12 before I swapped on the current head which is still stock valve size but has a good valve job and some mild cleanup of the ports. Car weight was 2210 lbs and technically wasn't SS legal as I had some of the interior out. I could probably put the interior back in and get the weight out of other places but it was easier to just take out.

What it lacks in parts is made up for in time. The same basic combo has been together for a couple years now and I would have to say a couple hundred passes. I just keep refining it and working on driving it better. Between that and some more weight reduction I have taken it from a 12.6 car to what it runs now without too many hardware changes. That is not to say I haven't tried other combos but I keep coming back to the same setup or something similar. I tell people all the time that seat time is the best mod you can make. I have been running this same car in one form or another for something like four or five seasons now. First it was supercharged on radials and went I think a best of 12.1. Then it was supercharged on slicks and went 11.65. I took the s/c off and ran the car all motor on radials next. Spent close to a year trying to go 12's on radials and finally went a 12.8. Put slicks on and went 12.69 the first track day (WCF a couple years back). The all motor thing was supposed to be a distraction while I figure out what to do next but between having fun racing Street Stock and the challenge of chipping away at the time I just stuck with it.
Oh engine management is an older Haltech - E6X for those that are familiar. No pics of the engine unfortunately - heck the only pics I have of the car are ones from events. Nothing special to see under the hood though.
I have to thank Big Tuna for all his help and advice, Chris at Xenocron Tuning, my brother, Killacoupe, and everyone that said it couldn't be done.
Yup stock pistons and rods with arp rod bolts. Stock bolts everywhere else. Head has a pretty good valve job and the first couple inches of the ports are cleaned up but that is about it. Has springs and retainers obviously. Trans is stock with a Quaife. Our heads are flat (the combustion chamber is in the piston) so milling the head wouldn't do anything. Car has cams and an intake manifold and header on it and that pretty much rounds out the mods.
