Bench Racers
I hate when you get to the track, run your car and have a malfunction, go back to your pit, and be mobb'd by all these morons with suggestions and shifting strategies. Majority of the time I feel like throwing my wrench at their mouths.....
How do you deal with them?
I tell a lot of those individuals, before you talk, go out there and do it yourself.

I just try and keep my head under the hood and let them talk. Then I stand up and ask them what they are racing today? "Oh uh, I just came to watch" Yeah. Thats what I thought
LOL - I had some kid call me out the other day. Talking about "you want to run your car against my K Civic" I said sure, line it up, he had the ***** to say "As soon as I finish building it" WTF

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!! Had a friend with the same situation and 6 months later the same kid said he had to get the car first! LOL
so what if the racer had a car in a bracket or index, would that make it more tolerable to discuss with them, or is it just people who generally have no idea what they are talking about rather than if they have a car. just curious on this

Be professional and just ignore them. Your actions will speak louder than words when you make a clean pass. I get it all the time from the muscle car guys and when I pass them up with an engine 1/4 the size of theirs...
I can hear them now.... "That car has a roll cage and it is slow as f*ck" - Morons.
With a big show polish "LIC" on your windshield.
i know how this gets annoying, i have the issue at local meets etc.

People who have no idea, or even been at a light tree. Again, BENCH RACERS.
It is hard to do so, but I try. I'll admit and sometimes they get the best of me.
Honestly, i tell them to go pound sand, or line up at the tree with me. I've yet to find someone to stand up and line it up. nothing but trash talkers, with nothing better to do, and nothing decent to race
I've been clowned for destroying a clutch at the track on my first pass, I replied if you aint breaking **** you aint making power. then I showed up the following month with a twin plate clutch embarrassed them. you always have someone talking **** I've learned in short time not to entertain them.
LOL! to funny everyone! to true! my advise, invest in stansion poles and chains! oh if that isnt enuff walk around in your helmet, and test the 2step! or when id get some really good ones, specifically, so who drives this and im in my entire suit, I used to point to GK!! back in the day when there were no upgrades and we ran NHRA, I had a kid spit in the engine bay of my beloved civic,it was this kid, his cronie and father, I ripped them ****'s new asses, We used to carry this huge big rig flathead screwdriver, GK came up behind me and handed it to me, i was going to kill that kid, I finally ran them off when I saw the mom come up and I started talkin ish about her, she got mad at the 3 guys, said, leave that lady alone, she looks like shes gonna hurt you.. ugh I hate most of the guys that drive the older cars at our local track. always have something to say about our rear diffusers and the slicks being flat and on the front. I unloaded my car once and heard a guy say "look this guy brought his matchbox car out to play"...guess who I got lined up against first race...yeah boy I hope he dreams about the back of my car he was staring at from the 60' on lol. this year when I brought the car out with the chute on i had a guy come up and ask my why I would waste money and put a parachute on my car... as I looked over at his car and then looked back at him and said well if your car was fast enough you would need one too. I've kept my mouth shut to a lot of people that say things I overhear but some guys just rub me the wrong way.
they stay skeptical, you just have to let it slide. they will throw comments, you just have to keep that chin up and ignore it. they line up, you just have to blow their doors off. sooner or later, they get the point.
...OR you could show them that they are a bench racer and help them get rid of the problem.
