gsr fat 5's originally came w. a clearcoat so if the person who sprayed those didnt fully remove the clearcoat before spraying over the rims then YES. it may look ugly and have an uneven looking coat on there even after the black is gone. you will need to use sandpaper to remove the coat thoroughly then decide from there what you want to do.

if you have a crx purchase 195/50-15 tires.

does it snow in your area?

not sure if he removed the clear coat. i was thinking about polished but idk is it worth it buying new tires and removing the paint or should i just forget about the fat fives and sell both pairs and get a set of rota's or something? im on a little bit of a tight budget.im having my car repainted blade silver this month so i cant go 2 crazy on rims and tires.

If you want the stickiest tires you can get, and you don't mind so-so treadlife (maybe 15-20K miles), get the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11, Toyo Proxes R1R, or Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, all in 195/50-15.

If you want better treadlife (say 25-40K miles) and you don't mind a little less performance (still very good, just not quite as sticky as the previous group), get the Yokohama S.drive in 195/50-15.

Yokohama S.drive in 195/50-15 may go with those but what is your guys opinion is it worth it removing the paint and the new tires or should i sell them and pick up a diff set off wheels?
