Have a 96 Accord with obd11 code p0401. I preformed all test that manual suggest. The egr control selinoid opens when you provide voltage, egr valve holds vaccum, there is no vaccum at the egr valve at idle and checked for voltage at egr connector on the pins as manual suggested and volts were at 5 volts like it should be. Mechanic suggest cleaning ports on intake and that was done. After cleaning the ports engine idles fine but not as smooth as I think it should. Engine will stalls if you ramp rpm's, this was not a problem before cleaning. Installed vaccum gage on vaccum line to egr and when you ramp rpm's gage jumps to about 8 in. and holds. Checked voltage at selinoid while ramping rpm's and volts jump up as you hit throttle and fall off as quick. Plugged vaccum line to egr valve and engine now will not stall. This code showed it self about 2 weeks after having head reworked due to timming belt breaking, could this be coinsidence or is there possibly somthing else causing this.
