Need a Honda Tech to Help with Radio Code
I called up my Acura dealership and they want to charge me to recover the factory radio code. I have the VIN, the serial number, and proof of ownership. If I can get free help from someone on here, it would be absolutely appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Go there in person and talk to a tech. Chances are they'll do it for free. It takes like 1 minute to look it up.
I got my radio code from using this link, just put your VIN,phone number, etc...

Blargh. It's 30 minutes across town and they are quite possibly the biggest PITAs to deal with. I don't have the best relationship with them after the problems I had with my RSX tranny.
If anyone can help on here, that would be spectacular. I'm def not a scammer or thief or anything. Met many many people at this last ITR expo so I know there are at least a few vouches out there.

I have all of his info, but he lives right down the street from me, so we have the same zip code. I tried the zip from the first owner (3 owner car), but that didn't work either.

hmmmm, i guess the only way you can get your code is by going to your Acura dealership. How much are they charging you for the code?
Good plan. I have a few buddies that work there, so I'll try that. As an aside, if there is anyone else that can help, I would also appreciate that. Surely we have some techs lurking on here who are willing to help.
Try this isn't so expensive.

I have a RSX radio and I lost the card with the number maybe I'll try this to get the radio sold but I don't have the RSX anymore then I won't have the way to verify if the code is good.
good luck.

I just did this for a friend. I called the local Acura dealer gave them the serial # and 30 seconds later I had the code. That was it. To charge for this is BS.
Working two different routes now. Like I said, the Acura dealership here is a PITA. They are very tough to deal with. It took 3 times of taking the car in for them to diagnose a third gear grind in my RSX tranny. I had to actually go out on a drive with one of the techs to show them what it was doing before they would replace it. They are less than helpful.
thats beat that they want to charge you for a radio code..we do it for free at my job but the again its a hyundai dealer
I can see how you think the local Acura dealership can be a PITA. LOL. I have a decent relationship with them. PM'ed. BTW Mike is
was a great ITR instructor.
