I bought this car with a b16 Motor. The guy said he swapped engine like nothing but I look underneath the hood bunch of sensors are not plugged and hanging around. I have a little issue with the car some of the sole call mecanics i know say its because its giving to much air then gas therefore my little issue is the car turns off on me. But before that it sounds like its choking because its not taking in much gas, What sensor is that? or what can it be?

I bought this car with a b16 Motor. The guy said he swapped engine like nothing, everything fit perfect, except the wire harness was not changed and there are sensors and plugs that are not connected. When i put on the AC sounds like its choking and it turns off. Now is doing it more often, without the AC turned on. Can someone help me here

1. do you have the correct ecu for that engine in the car
2. is the car idling up when you turn the ac on? if no, there's where you troubleshoot

Could it be because there are sensors that are not plugged up?

who knows, possible. random *** questions like this that haven't been trouble shot to an end by the op are nearly impossible to guess. could be many things. if it's idling up when the ac clicks on i'm kind of at a loss to what you're trying to tell us? as for the ecu you would use a obd1 ecu that had a b16 map on it

when the ac is on it does idle, but when it stops idleing after awhile it starts acting up like if it stops recieving gas, it shuts off.

Without the AC on its starts idleing as well when that stops, sometimes the car starts choking once again like if its not recieving alot of gas....

Can that be a sensor, that is not plugged because i do have some plugs that are not connected because remember i have the gsr wire harness

1) you need the correct harness for the engine
2) you need to make sure the ecu is correct

a b16 into a gsr is not a direct swap by just dropping the motor in, you need the harness and ecu to match, the b16 is a much smaller engine then the B18C1 and uses different sensors and such because it is obd2, where as a 95 gsr is obd1.

have you checked the fuel pressure or changed the fuel filter in awhile? normally if a car won't idle you have a fuel or timing issue. a failing fuel pump can cause this exact situation but then again, so can a few other things like a plugged filter, wrong ecu, i could keep going

as for the sensors, you can run an obd2 engine in an obd1 car quite easily and not change the harness. however you need a basic understanding of the engine, what ecu you have and what sensors it requires. have you put the ecu on a scan tool to see if any hard codes are set?

the worst part about this thread is you are not troubleshooting and you're looking for an internet problem solver
