Default Integra water temp gauge goes down when acclerate

Okay I have a weird problem. Te car would idle fine and warms up fine, after letting the car warm up, I would drive it and everytime I acclerate, the water temp gauge would go all the way back to cold. If I don't acclerate and stop, it'll come back up to normal temp. Anyone ever had a problem like this. Plus my car hesistates when the engine is cold from 2-3 k rpm(only when car is first started),after warm up, car drives fine even when temp gauge goes to cold(while accelerating). Any ideas?

Check the coolant level and then replace the thermostat.

Usually the thermostat would be my number one culprit. Either it is the incorrect temp, or it is stuck open.

I have had this problem for awhile now, but it only goes cooler if I am revving it for awhile. It also never went all the way to cold, I don't know how far cold your gauge is showing.

I changed the thermostat and radiator.

Next things to change would be the temp gauge and temp sending unit. I gave up on it tho to tell you the truth and it has never been a problem for years.

Did you bleed the coolant system properly?

Thats one of the problems. Air bubbles in your coolant circulation. Drain it out or just add more coolant and bleed the cooling system properly to get all the air bubbles out.

that wont matter if the real problem is the sending unit (one wire yel/blk)

i check the sending unit and it's all, connections are good, still has continuity and good resistance.

My integra does the same thing, only during cruise or acceleration. I'll probably replace the tstat. I dont understand why the temp would drop its already warmed up and the tstat should be open at that time.
