Post Weld Drag-Lites fit on DC?

Hey guys, looking to buy some weekend wheels for the drag stip and put some slicks or drag-radials on them. Found the deal below on craigslist, will they fit? Or will they stick out too far and look ugly? They have 5" backspacing on a 15x8 in wheel = +15 offset. I have rolled fenders and spacers if needed.

they should work fine. i run 15x8 4.75" backspace w/ 5mm spacer. they stick out a bit but nothing crazy. the 5" bs should tuck in nicely. BS and offset are not exactly interchangeable terms so dont get too caught up on the offset. if possible take the car with you and test fit to check for brake clearance and whatnot.

Alright, thanks! I was calculating the offset using a chart that I found based on wheel width and backspacing so I believe its pretty accurate.

Any suggestions on the widest tire I could comfortably fit on my teg? I was thinking 225/50/15 M/T drag radials? Need to get 400hp to the ground.

i am familiar with the chart

but offset and backspace are measured two different ways. backspace is the distance from the inside lip to the mounting plate. while offset is the distance from the mounting plate to the centerline of the wheel width. the chart works for all intensive purposes.

IMO as far as tires, there is no reason to spend $$ on drag wheels and then run radials. get some slicks 24.5x8 or 8.5x15.

Oh ok, good to know. Someone who finally knows their stuff. The only reason I was looking into radials was to be able to drive to the track and have some fun around town on the weekends. Would you recommend wheel screws or beadlock with slicks? M/T or M&H slicks?

c5R - Yes I do realize these are 5-lug. I have an ITR 5-lug conversion. Although I wish I still had 4-lug, so many more wheel options.

you should have two sets of wheels. drag wheel/slicks for the track and DOT wheels/tires for daily

x2 5-lug made it a PITA to find semi affordable race wheels. weld magnums and the exospeed 5-stars are like $400 a piece, too rich for my blood.
