Default Q: P1 splitter for integra

Can someone tell me the steps involved in removing p1 splitter for loading and unloading into a trailer? From the pictures of install, I can't tell if it is easy to remove with or withut jacking up the car.

Thanks

Wen

OK I am assuming you have the P1 airdam too??
The airdam is a slide in place piece.
Pull the airdam out. loosen the bolts... Notice I said loosen.
Pull the pins from the brackets and slide the splitter off.
Pulling it back towards the front of the car and once it clears the forward most bolt it will drop down.
It's that easy.
Takes me about 5 min on my EG, and thats by myself.
I pull my whole nose off my car for transport.

It might take you a little practice but you'll get it.

Tips for loosening bolts quickly... Buy a 6mm (i believe) allen head socket
Ratchet
pull airdam... loosen bolts.

Ditto that Paul....
Is your car an Integra? If so you should not have to jack the car up to remove the splitter.
Once you remove the airdam, then pull the release pins you should be able to pull the Splitter blade off from the front very easily. One person can re fit the splitter but two make it very easy.

I used Dzus fasteners on the left and right side of the airdam. quarter turn and the airdam is off, pull the pins and slide the blade off. I can remove the whole system before a stop light turns green (I had once forgotten to take it off on my way home from the track)

I have my air dam bolted to the bumper cover. Cover is dzused to the car. I pop the dzuses, slide the cover and air dam off, loosen the bolts on the splitter (6mm allens) and pull the blade off. Simple simple.

I see. does anyone have pictures of where they placed the dzused pin? or if anyone ever did a vid on how easy it is to remove? If its simple enough for me to remove myself, I would spend the money, since I usually don't have anyone to help me.

thanks guys.

I can post pix of how I have it on my civic. The dzus on the bumper can be duplicated on an intera. And its definately a one man operation.

which kind of quick release fasterner style did you guys use? ring type of flat head type? if the ring type is ok, then I won't need any tools to remove the splitter right?

Life is good when you don't need to bring ANY tools to the track. Arrive and drive. Ah, the satisfaction of it.

Hi dirty,

I searched but couldn't find anyone showing the removal of the splitter. Can you point me to the right direction?

Thanks,

Wen

Did you miss the second post in this thread? He details it perfectly. When you buy it and see it, it makes perfect sense.

All I will add to that is........
First step is to slide the lip off. then...

I have gotten so used to pulling mine off and on that I can now get it (by myself) in about 5 minutes.

Come on guys this isnt rocket science here on honda-tech.

If you searched splitters you'd find it.
The P-1 Splitter is made by Special Projects Motorsports.

Not too long ago it was one of the hottest topics here.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...light=splitter

There are two companies who sell them SPMS in California
MRL on the east coast

There are no step by step video instructions... written instructions, hand signals or flashing lights.
Honestly you can train monkeys to install and remove this.
The wonderful thing about this splitter is its simplicity.

No Nuclear Submarine construction here, just an easy to use product that works.
I will admit it does take a few practice runs when i first bought it.
But by the time i had gone to, and from the track a few times it was sooo easy.

Thread jack possibly

I know there's been different iterations of the P1 bracket, does the latest version work with full race traction bars? I've got an EJ6 hatchback.

Go back and search the thread ... I just gave you all.
Mr Legoman uses the P-1 splitter with a modified set of traction bars on his EG hatch.
It can be done but you will have to modify your traction bars.
