Chipping bondo - price estimate?
I have a 98 Civic coupe, and there are patches of bondo chipping off. The previous owner took it to a cheap shop, and they didn't prep it properly. Now, the bondo is chipping in two areas, and it looks like ****. I was wondering how much it would be to just repair the bondo. I'm assuming (since all of it is beginning to spider web) would be to strip off all of the old product, and repaint the panel. Judging from how the inside of the panel looks, it shouldn't have any dimples/waves/dings, so I don't think it would need a new layer of bondo. Here are some pics:

I know theres a dent there, but I don't see the point of paying $1000 to fix the entire panel, when the car is only worth $3000. Rough estimates are welcome. Thanks guys!

I never understand why these threads come up...why not actually go to one of the million shops in your state and get a REAL estimate?
Anywho...if you took it into my work we would not repair that without fixing the dent. You cannot just sand and feather the filler out, it will look like ***. Plus we would not put our lifetime warranty on body/paint with a horrible prior repair such as that. What your looking at is basically a 6-8 (probably the higher end) hour repair for just body. Which would be to repair the dent and grind away most of the paint and filler. When ever I fix quarters, I always remove interior trim panels...there is probably 1-1.5hr in R&I's. The glass would get removed, rear bumper dropped, rocker mldg removed and body side mldg removed...you are at $1000 or more at a reputable shop.

looks like its chipping because of that dent, it was probably fixed decently and then after you got that dent, the metal bent again and since bondo doesn't bend or flex, it started chipping off...
