I don't own a 5th gen but from what everyone says it's best to just trade it for a base since so much work is required to remove ATTS.

 

h22a with an h2b kit?

 

You have to fab an adapter plate to mount the intermediate shaft. Obviously also need a regular h22 trans.

 

Easiest to hardest:

1) Swap vehicles.
2) Swap engine (or just the block), transmission, intermediate shaft, and ECU. Then remove ATTS bulb.
3) Swap transmission, intermediate shaft, and ECU after making adapter plate (like Vin said). Then remove ATTS bulb.

 

I have No idea how that thing looks like and should be.

 

I removed my ATTS from my 5th gen. I also dropped in a JDM H22 with an LSD trans. that's how I did it. The block for the SH is different to accommodate the ATTS unit. You're better off pulling the engine and trans and dropping in a H22 from a base or JDM version. you don't need a new ecu because the ATTS has it's own ecu.
