Default zc turbo questions...

i know i know i know.....i did search....but it didnt answer some of my questions.....i am really thinking bout turbo my zc hatch......i know the sohc vtec kit works....now my questions are how much boost can a zc hold (i know this is a odd question it depends on the motor) just kinda want to get a idea.....i heard u have to shave some of your turbo manifold for it to fit that isnt a problem at all for me...but what bout the port to make it fit the zc how much do u have to port and polish for that....also should i upgrade the fuel pump and everything......i have seen people running like greddy exhaust....i know a 3 inch would do good.....is anybody running a 3 inch exhaust for a zc or is there even enough power to make a difference.....is anybody can answer these quetions then that would be cool thanks alot

Yes, 92-95 Civic SOHC kit works. I am running a daily 7psi, and going 8psi when I get my DSM injectors/circuit. Stock internals, w/ proper fuel management, it can hold ~9-10psi before melting a rod. If you're going to be running low (~6-7psi), then you don't NEED to port the manifold (This coming from Greddy), since it is such a small difference. If you really want to do it though, take the exhaust gasket for the ZC and line it up w/ the manifold and you will see how much you need to dremel/port off.

Depending on what fuel setup you are running, it will determine whether you want to upgrade the pump or not. If you are going FMU/missing link/stock injectors, you will want an inline pump to handle the psi the FMU requires. If you are going DSM 450cc's w/AFC hack (Or custom circuit), then you can keep the stock one..The Walbro 255lph will HELP, but isn't NEEDED.

I'm running custom 2.5" exhaust on my ZC-T; and it seems good for now. I'm not getting any spiking, and it has a good tone.

Good luck. The ZC's are fun, especially w/ boost.

To answer some of your guestions, you will prolly be good to boost around anywhere from 7-10 psi depending on your tunning and setup. Any time your talking about boost your gonna wanna upgrade your fuel system. A 3" exhaust would be good when dealing with turbo's, you wanna get the exhaust gases out as fast and smoothly as possible for quicker spool time. As for porting the manifold to match your ZC head, I dont know to much because iv never dealt with a turbo ZC. Hope this help's a little bit.

um ok the kit doesn;t need any block shaving.3 inch might not be worth it on the greddy kit.also get your manifold port matched if you want to do it right. a machine could do it for you.this is strictyl from expereince i have from my boys 88zc twin cam with a 92-95 greddy kit.at the most the zc will handle about 200 tehn it's bye bye
