Rear rotor to small from factory!!
I bought a 2002 new and decide to replace the rear pads,I noticed there was about 3/8" not being in contact with the rotor,so the pad had a notch in it. So I measured the disc. and found it to be 9" instead of the 10.6" so I want to the Honda Dealer that I bought the car from and said I would like the right disc. put on ,they said it was out of warranty I said they put the wrong parts on and I just wanted it to be put back to specs.Has any one had this problem? Lawrence::
Considering the 7th Generation Civics came with drum rear brakes, I don't think you'll get much to compare to. If you've got a hatchback, you might want to head to the EP3/DC5 forum.
I'm new at this so what I'm asking is how could I get 9" disc. on the rear of my car from the factory and know one caught it or did they run out of 10.2" and substitute these? With all the SI on here has any one heard of this happening?
So let me get this straight... your car is 8 years old and it's just now needing new rear rotors? How many miles are on it?
Post a pic for reference of the rotor with the caliper attached. This makes no sense to me. Just go buy a new rotor from NAPA or AutoZone, it's like $20 man.

it is possible someone who had your car before you replaced the rear rotor with an aftermarket one...not that uncommon, would the dealership have caught it, probably not...
