trying to figure out about my integra!!!!!
i have a 92 (11/91) integra 2 door.
my questions are: I have a 1.8. Does this make my car a GS? How can i tell if i have a B181A or B181B?
This is a long list...
Whats the whole DA thing? Body style? How do i know if i have a DA9 or DB whatever?
And how do you know if you have LSD? I read it was an option...
I can work on cars but am not familiar with specifics. Id really like to know my specifics. If you guys could help, it would be much appreciated.

I dont have the answer for all of your questions as I am not as familar with the 1990-1993 integra as I am with the 1994-2001 integra but I can help you out on a couple. You will be able to tell what motor you have by checking the code on the block. it is located on the left side of the block about 3/4 of the way up. It is stamped into the aluminum in like size 20 font just to give you something specific to look for. It should be pretty obvious. It will say B18 and then a letter following B18. So it may be a B18A1 just for example. DA is just the body style. It was the integra produced from 1990-1993. I am not overly familar with the actual sequences of letters given to each body style but I believe they are letters 3-6 in the vin number. For my 1998 Gs-r the vin starts JH4DC2. Dc2 is the body style. If that helps you out any. A side from pulling out the passenge side axel and looking into the transmission I dont know of another way to determine if a car has an lsd. Unless every type of that trim came with one. The JDM 1998 Integra type r for example. They all had factory lsd's as they were the performance model of the 4th gen(1998-2001) integras. A DA guy might jump in and be able to tell you everything you want to know. I would rather not give you false/incorrect information. Good luck.
First, off all integras are 1.8. In order to find out if its an ls gs or rs read the vin, itll say one of those in there sokmewhere. Ull prolly also see it say DA something idk if all DAs have a 9 after it or not. Mosy LSDs that ive seen have LSD stamped on it somewhere, but i havent seen a DA yet with as LSD unless its been swapped. They come stock with cable clutch witch theres a thick cable that runs behind the motor that yu can visible see. It goes all the way to the tranny if yu have someone pressing on the clutch while the hood is popped ull see it move.
thanks man!!!
i love my car!!! i just wanna know everything. ya know?
ive only started doing stuff to it. i got coilovers and slammed it. didnt even have it all the way down on the rear and it was tooooooo low so i had to raise it back up a little so the ride wouldnt be so mean. put a short shifter in. and now it looks like i have a tranns seal leak.
everybody talks about different kinds of oil to use i just put mobil 5000 10w-30 in it for now.

The VIN will tell you all you need to know... http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-ar...numbers-29059/ unless there is a swap or mod.
As far as I know a 1.7L VTEC and a 1.8L are avalable for the 90-93 Integra, the GS-R woluld have the VTEC, but again it is all in the VIN.
To confirm it is or is not a swap check the engine stamp, as mentioned it is easy to see on the left of engine...

The 86-89 gen 1s were DA's also! They had a d16a1 and some had ZC's.DOHC 1.6L engines
All integras seem to get good gas milage and have great power if running proper.

90-93 integra rs, ls, and gs all have B18a1 engines stock, none of them came with factory lsd, only the dc2 integra type r came with limited slip as far as USDM goes.
the 92 and 93 were the only years they released the GSR with the 1.7l vtec engine(B17A1) which is very similar to a b16 but not quite as it has many similarities to the b18 as well, as far as a 90-93 integra having a legitimate b16 stock...im almost positive there is no such thing.
the first gen integras(86-89) all came with the DOHC D16a1, holding many similarities to the DOHC ZC, which is strictly a JDM engine, and the D16a6(2gen CRX) but still is a completely unique engine, these cars do have DA in the vin code but as far as i've seen, they are not referred to as "DA integras"
i dont know the circumstances but some 90-93s(may have even been a specific year) have the DB in the vin instead of DA, these are still considered DA chassis integras.
there is something in the code that will tell you if its a rs, ls, or gs but for me, i always look to see if there is an ABS accumulator and such for abs, i dont know about the RS but the LS DA integra does NOT have ABS. LS's also have more of a "plain" steering wheel where as the gs has a more "fancy" steering wheel with more buttons on it and such. Personally i like the LS steering wheel.
and that cable every body is talking about "running behind the engine"....thats the speedo cable, the clutch cable runs beside the brake master cylinder, over the top, right above the injectors and then down behind the distributor and connects to the lever on the front side of the transaxle.

Oh nice...since you guyz are spoon feeding information I got a couple questions. What colors do integras come in? Oh ya I got another question. How big are the gas tanks on these things? Can I put a s2000 head on my b-series, i heard you can just wire an extra oil line and slap it on.
Thanks, you guyzzza always give such good info allllll that time...ya know what I mean?
