Default Clamp around brake reservoir is stripped

I was having problems with my brake pedal keeping pressure under braking then found out after looking under the hood that the bolt that is attached to the clamp that goes around the brake reservoir is stripped and won't tighten up causing a leak in the brake system allowing air to get in. Would it be okay to substitute the clamp for something like a hose clamp? I inspected the brake cylinder itself and it seems to still be in good condition and won't need to be replaced.
