So im coming to the end of my first swap and need some serious help. Im putting a B18a1 into my 1996 civic ex and it is not getting spark or fuel at the moment. A week ago when i had everything hooked up i plugged in the battery, key in hand, and my windsheild wipers came on and my cluster was on..which turned out to be a bad starter causing my engine to be a hot wire and sending power to everything in contact with it. At the time my fuel pump was working but now that i replaced the starter it wont come on unless i hook up a wire from an accessory directly to the fuel pump power wire. I just tested the distibutor for spark and got nothing. All the fuses were checked and they are fine as well and there isnt anything unplugged on the fuse box or elsewhere in the car. Any idea of what could have happened or what else i could do to try to trouble shoot this problem.

 

if your fuel pump isn't priming when you turn the key then you must have fried the main relay. you should be able to turn your key and hear the main relay click on. if you don't go get a new one and throw it on there. that should take care of it.

 

I actually just got it to start. Somewhere along the way i forgot to hook up the ground on the harness to the thermostat housing, so i guess i lucked out lol. Thanks for the help though
