Guys I'm getting a new car soon and I wanted to know what u guys think? I'm leaning towards the vette right now cuz of the 351 rear wheel horses.

A. IS 300 doesnt offer a 6-speed

B. The I6 has a lot more potential than the I4 of a Honda.

Plus if you really want to get frisky the Supra TT engine is always a swap choice

I'm in the same situation, deciding between an IS 300 or RSX-S. If someone would buy my damn car!

 

The vette doesnt have 351 whp. Its rated at 345 at the flywheel, so you're a little off. Ive driven the C5 before though, and yeah its quick, I like it. As for the IS300 vs 330XI, I would get a 330I and call it a day. BMWs are really meant to be rear drivers and this is no exception. Ive spent a good amount of seat time in bout the IS300, and the 330I, and I can tell you that the BMW is a much nicer car. Its a good bit quicker and the interior is MUCH nicer. Haven't driven the A4 yet, but Ive always been an audi fan. You must be doing allright to be affording these cars at 18..............

 

none Id find a good priced used NSX. Not one of those cars appeals to me

I would get a 03 CL TYPE-S 6 speed !

 

Those are all $30k+ cars. You can have a much nicer car for less.

Point in case: 2000 Audi S4. Roughly $24,000.

Get the IS300. I was in the same position and went for the RSX- id go for the IS now that I own it.

As for the S4 its a beautiful car, but where the hell can you get it for $24k? Not around here.

 

You can get a used 2000 model for $20-$25k.

 

Show me a 00' S4 for 20Gs and I'll buy it on the spot (as long as it isnt in pieces).

Your right about the 330XI being better than the IS300 but you are completely wrong when you say that the Vette is 345hp. Check this site http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/index.html. You see in 01' when Chevy released the Z06 they upped the power of the LS1 as so their sales would not drop. The HP rose from 345hp-350hp. And its been that way for the LS1 ever since. The Z06 which was introduced with the brand new LS6 engine in 01' made 385hp, and in 02' it was bumped up some more to 405hp. Now thats the car to have! 2002desertsilver-rsx you should really check the dealer that you are looking to buy your vette from and see if he can give you a good price on a Vette Z06 because its the much better bang for the buck. Chevy prices their Coupe @$43,895 and the Z06 hardtop @$51,155. Now i know that your dealer wants to make money and i am sure you could probably get him to let the Z06 go for $45k. IF you can get him to do that, than go Z06 ALL THE WAY!!! With performance a tiny tiny bit shy of a Ferrari 360 Modena and i mean minutely tiny in difference for almost a 1/4th of the price nothing can even come close to a Z06! Go with the Vette!!!

I hate to be the one to start the domestic bashing, but GM cars suck... period. I'm speaking from personal experience with numerous trucks, suburbans, tahoes, cameros, and corvettes, that either I or a close personal friend or family member has owned and driven. Corvettes are fast, but that's it. If your gonna blow that much money on a car, get an M3!

Of course, that's completely IMHO

 

i always stick with jdm cars..more reliable in the long run..imo

 

definatley a masterpiece......wasn't aware they were so affordable

 

if it was me id get the corvette, lots of potential and ull be able to smoke most hondas but i think u should consider the new nissan 350z, they look great i saw one the other day and they're quick and have a six speed and a lot of other goodies that you can get such as LSD, 18 inch lightweight wheels...i love them

It might be as near fast as a 360 modena but in NO WAY does it come close to matching the performance aspects of it...those cars aren't priced over 200,000 dollars just cause they look good. Every aspect of them is engineered to be some of the highest quality on the market
