2000 honda accord transmission problems
i have a 2000 honda accord lx with the 3.0 v-tech v6 and the 4 speed automatic trans. my trans wont shift into first or fourth, it only starts out in second and shifts to third but it shift really hard. when it kicks down from 3rd to 2nd it will almost give you whiplash it shifts so hard. when i put it in drive i have to wait a few seconds for it to shift into drive and it also shifts hard when it does that. when i put it in reverse it will engage and then slip into neutral and then slam back into reverse. also the d4 light is flashing and it is throwing a honda specific code. i cant find anywhere that can tell me what this code means. i dont have it right now but i will post it when i get it. is this an easy fix or do i need a new trans? thanks
P1705 is a short in the gear position switch circuit. The gear position switch is located externally on the end of the transmission case. You may want to check the wiring harness for that switch to make sure something wasn't chewing on it.
