Favorite song to tune your stereo with???
What's your favorite song to tune your system to? I know we all use all the pink noise and spectrum sweeps and what not, but for a quick tune, do you have a favorite song to use?
I have a few... (don't laugh please!) Michael Jackson, the way you make me feel, and the gorillaz, dare, both tracks are very dynamic as far as reproduction of the full musical spectrum, strong vocals, so these tracks would def help you pick out any weaknesses in your set up. If your stereo can reproduce these tracks, it will have no problem reproducing anything else that may be in your musical library, IMO...
I also use Abbreviated daylight, shapes in a nightmare... krazy electronics track, its got a badass spectrum sweep around the middle frequencies and a deep, low, clean bass line that drops about 20 secs in... I use this track to help with tuning a system with a very strong sub stage...

Holy crap... I wouldn't listen to sade everyday, but that track is awesome! The thunder, then raid drops, then percussion. Then the xylophone and guitar. Her voice is so smooth and rich... I had to hook that up to my hometheater speakers... I can't believe I haven't used that before!
Yeah, pretty much anything from MJ is on point, gonna check out Rodrigo Y Gabriella in a minute, Death Cab, huh? I like them, but never considered them for tuning, Im gonna have to check out grapevine fires here in a minute too...

okay, just checked out the death cab song again.. I get it... All of the nature sounds in the beginning, then the vocals are so up front and pronounced, very nice... as far as Rodrigo y Gabriella, I checked out a live performance they did, It was pretty ill... Anything with decent guitar picking is a winner in my book for tuning!

RedneckRicer: Dude, I wouldn't ever use trance to "tune" a stereo, but I love listening to it! It's just not very dynamic, meaning, it doesn't really touch the full musical spectrum... but that second track you put up, that sh** was badass!!!! It made me wish I had some beans right now :p I love the left to right/right to left output in the soundstage, it sounds cool as hell... As far as the 3rd track, your choice for those "late night drives", what've you been getting into buddy!? LOL!

its pretty much all i listen to. Ive used a few processors and fine tuned it a bit more using the sweeps. but when i put on something i wanna hear. doesnt sound how i want it to sound. late night drives are a must for me.
I go cruising around looking for new spots for photography. and just to unwind.

LOL Jacob, you kill me man... I wish I could get away with that, but unfortunately, I don't own my own shop yet, like you, and the higher ups prob wouldnt like me saying certain things I wish I could say to my customers!
Mmmmm... baseball and beer... my braves are in the playoffs, playing some of you turds out there on the westcoast(sf giants), I may be slow to post anything for a few! Please though, let me know what music you are tuning your systems with though!
i used to say that while i was still at BBY. haha. i used to ask people what they thought sounded better, and they would point something out, and then i would show my recommendation. they would be astonised that i would be willing to save them money, because what they think and what i think are different.

Thx Jacob, checkin it out now, it better make me feel better... I know you don't know what its like, being in New Mexico and all, with no major sports teams, but I need something good at this point, LOL!
LOL! plenty of that!!!! checked it out, love the song... like, not just for tuning, but its a badass song... I love the lead guitar, its so mellow, yet, up front and pronounced, the whole song is so mellow. I didn't get much of a left and right separation as far as the soundstage, so imaging was difficult to figure out... It could just be the beer, or the bad youtube recording, IDK... but, I do feel a little better, LOL, thx!

Pink Floyd - Money (used to sell high end home audio with this song, $1200 per speaker, not counting the amp and CD player required to run it all. management used to get pissed but they couldn't complain cuz i was just good, yeah...still at BBY, HAHA).
It was the most depressing two hrs of my life, btw...
I had to listen to RedneckRicers third track he posted for hours after watching that one... It's like a trance version of EMO music... (Not dissing the music, RedneckRicer, I really like those tracks!!!)
