Icon2 noob trying to fix my car

I have a 96 teg with a B18C6 motor gsr tranny and a stage 3 clutch. I was driving home when my oil light on the dash starts flashing..(not sure what that means)..i get the car to my house and pop the hood and there is what seems to be somewhat clear fluid around the top of the tranny where it was collected and where the block meets the head. can anyone help in telling me what is going on with the car and where to start fixing and if its something serious thanks

A title of something to do with oil light or oil problem might help others find you. I am assuming that it is your oil pressure light and will come on with low pressure, bad for your motor. Did you check the oil level? It is probably low, though oil pump and other things affect pressure.

Assuming it is the oil pressure light and not the need service light, then you need to find the cause before continuing to run it. Low pressure will ruin the motor. A bad sending unit will give you a false low pressure reading. Search oil light and oil pressure threads and start eliminating some of the variables. Start here, searched "oil light" in thread titles only. Also, since "b18c6" is not common is that real, european motor, or typeO?

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms...

Change your filter, check the sending unit. You may have a bad oil pump?
